Privacy notice

This notice describes what Becca does with information you type into the protocol. Scoring runs in this browser. Assessment answers are not posted to a Becca server, because there is not one. Read it before you start, and again if you return to a saved draft.

Who controls the data

The controller of protocol answers is the person using this browser. Becca is a client-side tool: it processes those answers only on-device. No operator receives, stores, or reviews your responses. If you never type an answer, nothing health-related is written to storage.

What is processed

The protocol records health-related special-category data. In this browser that can include:

  • Likert answers to autism and ADHD trait items (social communication, restricted patterns, inattention, hyperactivity-impulsivity, childhood history, camouflaging, impairment, and AuDHD conflict).
  • Age (required to score; the protocol is calibrated for 30 and over).
  • Optional sex assigned at birth.
  • Sleep, current mood-load, and substance-use flags.
  • Optional flags for an existing autism or ADHD diagnosis, hormonal change, and significant head injury.
  • Derived scores, bands, notes, and the generated report, plus draft progress so you can resume.
  • The intake acknowledgement that this is not a diagnosis.

A downloaded report is a Markdown or PDF file you create on your own device. Once downloaded, that file is under your control, not the app’s.

Legal basis

There is no account and no contract with an operator for this processing. Before items begin, intake requires an explicit acknowledgement that Becca is a screen, not a diagnosis. That checkbox is the analogue of consent under UK GDPR / GDPR Articles 6(1)(a) and 9(2)(a): you can refuse, close the tab, or leave without starting. Special-category health data is processed only after that acknowledgement, and only on this device.

If you do not tick the box, the protocol does not start. You may withdraw by using Erase data or by clearing this site’s data in the browser.

Where it is stored

Answers, context, and any report live in this browser’s localStorage under the key becca-protocol-v1 only. Becca does not set cookies for tracking. There is no server database of users. There are no accounts. Closing the tab does not erase storage; a different browser or device will not contain it.

What this app does not do

  • No analytics.
  • No advertising.
  • No sale of data.
  • No sharing of assessment answers with third parties by the app.
  • Assessment answers are not posted in network requests.

Third parties and hosting

The hosting platform that serves this page may see ordinary HTTPS request metadata on page load — typically an IP address and user-agent. That is how sites are delivered. It is not a copy of your protocol answers. Google Fonts are not used; type is not fetched from a third-party font CDN. A Grok App Builder or similar platform deploy may still load its own chrome and eligibility scripts. Those are not Becca scoring. They still mean “answers never leave this browser” is too clean a sentence.

If you later email a downloaded report to a clinician, that transfer is yours. Becca does not mediate it.

Retention

Data remains until you tap Erase data, clear this site’s data in the browser, or the storage key is rotated in a later version. There is no timed expiry. Unfinished drafts persist for the same reason finished reports do: so you can return on this device.

Your rights

Access, erasure, and portability are exercised on this device, because that is the only place the answers exist:

  • Access — open the report; download it as Markdown or PDF.
  • Erasure — tap Erase data, or clear site data in the browser.
  • Portability — the same Markdown or PDF download.

No account means we cannot look up, correct, or export data we never received. A request sent to a central inbox cannot be fulfilled for protocol answers, because none were transmitted to us.

Children

Becca is not for people under 30: items and cut-offs assume adult life after thirty. It is not for anyone under 18. Do not complete it on a child’s behalf as a substitute for clinical assessment.

Shared devices

localStorage belongs to this browser profile. Anyone who can unlock the profile can open Becca and read a saved draft or report. On a shared computer, erase data before you leave.

International transfers

There is no cross-border transfer of Likert answers by this app, because they are not posted to a Becca API. Opening the page still sends ordinary HTTPS request metadata (IP, user-agent) to the host. If the deployment platform injects its own scripts, those requests are not a copy of your protocol, but they do show that you loaded a neurodevelopmental screen.

United States

Becca is not a HIPAA covered entity, not a business associate of one, and does not receive or transmit PHI to a Becca operator. Protocol answers are not posted by this app. Page-load metadata still reaches the host. Under the CCPA / CPRA we do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

Crisis

If you are in crisis, this tool cannot help. Local emergency first. In the United States, call or text 988 (988lifeline.org). The legal page lists verified lines. IASP does not run a line; the directory is findahelpline.com/i/iasp.
